Merax Releases New Exercise Bikes

2 new upright magnetic exercise bikes from a company called Merax, appeared on the market recently.

This 1st one is a Merax folding fully adjustable unit (Model SL1451) in bright candy red trim plus:Merax Folding Adjustable Magnetic Upright Exercise Bike

  • Magnetic Resistance (adjustable of course)
  • Steel frame with 12 month warranty (90 days parts)
  • Adjustable seat height
  • Built-in digital display tracks your speed, time, distance, and calories burned
  • Three position Inclination adjustment
  • Maximum user weight is 220 pounds
  • Product weighs 46 pounds

Cut outs in the foam covering the front handle bars  exposes sensors for measuring your pulse.

When reclined fully, it may be difficult for some users to reach far enough forward to grip these bars for a reading.

The bars at the side of the seat do not carry sensors. Perhaps this could be a sensible place for another set of heart rate sensors?

Mentioning seats, it is nice to see a back fitted to this seat. Should make for a more comfortable ride as well.

… Now for the other bike.

This unit is a fairly normal upright exercising bike (Model SL1500) with similar specs as the fold up model above..Merax Upright Magnetic Exercise Bike

  • Steel frame with 12 month warranty (90 days parts)
  • Adjustable seat height (may need an extension for taller folks)
  • Built-in digital display tracks your speed, time, distance, and calories burned
  • Maximum user weight is 250 pounds
  • Magnetic Resistance (adjustable of course)

The tension control knob is easily reached being placed just below the LCD readout.

Adjustable foot straps attached to the pedals helps exercise on both the down stroke and the upstroke.

Both bikes have a relatively small footprint. The fold up bike when not in use can be put in the cupboard.

I wonder how the stability of the fold-up bike would be affected by those needing to use a seat extension?

Heavy discounting off the list price (50% or more) for both these models will get you a well priced basic means of exercising at home. While the current specials last that is…
